Outlaws Lacrosse Kicks Off May 1st
Denver’s professional lacrosse team, the Outlaws, will be playing their first game at home this Sunday May 1st. April Snow Showers
Colorado’s weather is very unpredictable and local residents saw it first hand again this past Tuesday. Depending on where you were in the state, you experienced sunny skies, treacherous rain or a white out. Larkspur, the small town located off I-25 between Denver and Colorado Springs saw the worst of the snow, see video footage and photos here.
Homes for the Homeless
Denver is creating solutions for the homeless population that has been affecting our community and has been a growing concern as our population increases. On Monday, ground broke to begin the three-story, 50,000 square-foot building with 60 one-bedroom furnished apartments project. This will supply housing for 250 homeless residents and is the start to a great future. Learn more about the project here.
Countdown to Olympics
We hit the 100 day countdown to the 2016 Olympics held in Rio, Brazil. But did you know that a high schooler from Colorado will be making her first Olympic debut? “Mallory Pugh is being called the future of soccer. She’s a Mountain Vista High School senior who’s playing on the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team.” Learn more about our local star athlete in the 9News article here.
Purple Rain at Film on the Rocks
It’s official, Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ will kick off Film on the Rocks this season. Word on the street is this movie was already in the works to be added to the lineup before news of his passing last week. Prince was a legendary musician and songwriter and will be missed by many.
