New Lightrail to DIA: What is it the most cost effective airport transportation?
A few weeks ago on our blog, we discussed the best methods of transportation to Denver International Airport and, specifically, if Uber is really the best option. With all the excitement surrounding the new Light Rail train going from Union Station to DIA, which opens on Earth Day, we wanted to revisit the topic of airport transportation. This is really a numbers game, and the most cost-effective way of transportation will vary depending on how many travelers are in your party, and how many days you will be gone.
If an individual is planning to travel round trip with a companion, with plans to be gone for 4 days, it turns out that near-site airport parking, such as Canopy Airport Parking, is the most economical option. Take a look at the graphic below which outlines the cost for airport transportation from Downtown Denver and around the Denver Metro Area. Travelers who opt for open-air parking and are coupon savvy, end up spending less money on airport transportation when they drive themselves and park at Canopy Airport Parking.
Canopy is one of the first parking facilities to be Green Garage
Certified. We value and support sustainability movements and while the new University of Colorado A-line might not always be the most cost effective solution for airport transportation, we still believe it is a great addition to our city and adds to our local urban mobility. Note, the train cost includes RTD $2/day parking fees. All outside fair estimates were determined by using the 9News rate calculator.
