Comic Con in Denver
Last weekend, over 100,000 people attended Comic Con in downtown Denver. The Comic Con attendees costumes were not to be missed, and the Denver Westword was nice enough to collect images of the top costumes. Strawberry Moon
This past Monday we celebrated the summer solstice and also got to witness a rare opportunity to see a full “strawberry moon.” It’s named the “strawberry moon” due to the fact that when farmers saw the moon, they knew their strawberry crops were ready for picking. Skateboarding Herd on 16th Street Mall
Dozens of skateboards were spotted near the 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver on Tuesday. We’re not quite sure why this event occurred, but it made for some great video. Watch here.
Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
The Pikes Peak Hill Climb, held in Colorado Springs, is the second oldest auto race in the US and this year marks its 100th Anniversary. The 2016 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with 102 drivers and riders will take place on Sunday, June 26th on Pikes Peak Highway. The race begins at 8am sharp and the detailed schedule along with ticket information can be found here. Highlights include the debut of the 2017 Acura NSX Supercar.
Mother Saves Child from Mountain Lion
A 5-year-old boy was attacked by a mountain lion outside of Aspen this past weekend. The attack happened in the family’s yard, and luckily his mother ran to his rescue and fought off the lion. The boy suffered injuries to his head, neck and face and is recovering at the Children’s Hospital.
